TL;DR
Advanced Data Engineer (AI & Data): Designing, implementing, and maintaining distributed data processing pipelines for clients across various industries with an accent on scalability, maintainability, and high-quality datasets. Focus on building data products using Cloud Data Platforms, managing distributed systems, and collaborating with cross-functional data teams.

Location: Schlieren, Switzerland (Hybrid)

What you will do

  • Act as a trusted advisor to guide customers toward successful technical data solutions.
  • Develop, test, and monitor distributed data processing pipelines.
  • Create high-quality, reproducible datasets from versatile sources in a scalable and maintainable way.
  • Communicate the technical specifications and rationale of proposed solutions to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Architects, Software Engineers, and Data Scientists.
  • Deliver projects iteratively using Agile methodologies to produce value early and frequently.

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a comparable field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data or software engineering positions.
  • Experience designing and maintaining data products using architectures like Data Lake, Lakehouse, or Medallion.
  • Practical data programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with Cloud Data Platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or Amazon Sagemaker.
  • Fluency in both German and English is required.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on skills with Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Airflow, Kafka, Kubernetes, Terraform, or FastAPI.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Scala, R, Java, Typescript, or .NET.
  • Experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Familiarity with big data infrastructures for processing large and heterogeneous data volumes.
