What you will do

  • Evaluate early-stage R&D for advanced systems, including microwave-assisted and plasma-assisted combustion.
  • Develop gas turbine and novel jet engine combustor designs, utilizing additive manufacturing to reduce system losses.
  • Research hydrogen and sustainable aviation fuels to assess combustion characteristics, emissions, and operability.
  • Design and test advanced ignition systems to improve stability and operating range.
  • Conduct test campaigns using diagnostics like laser-induced fluorescence, PIV, and high-speed imaging.
  • Analyze experimental and simulation data to support technology maturation and design improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Combustion Science, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in combustion design, gas turbine combustors, or aerospace R&D.
  • Strong understanding of fuel-air mixing, flame stability, ignition, emissions, and combustion performance.
  • Experience with combustion testing, experimental diagnostics, CFD, or simulation tools.
  • Must be located in or able to work in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to hydrogen combustion, sustainable fuels, or plasma/microwave-assisted combustion systems.
  • Experience with additive manufacturing-enabled combustor design.
  • Experience with advanced propulsion component development.
