What you will do

• Serve as the primary Regulatory Compliance Officer for Portuguese operations.
• Act as the appointed Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for Portugal.
• Ensure compliance with BdP, CMVM, AML/CTF, MiFID II, PSD2, and GDPR requirements.
• Maintain and update compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Manage regulatory reporting and act as the point of contact during audits and inspections.
• Provide regulatory guidance to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in regulatory compliance within financial services or fintech.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Proven experience serving as or supporting an MLRO function in Portugal.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese and European regulatory frameworks (BdP, CMVM, AML/CTF).
• Demonstrated ability to advise senior leadership on compliance and risk management.
• Must be based in Lisbon, Portugal.

Nice to have

• Professional compliance certifications such as CAMS, ICA, or ACAMS.
• Experience implementing enterprise-wide compliance frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or Risk Management.
