Senior Systems Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Chongqing, China; full-time, onsite role.

What you will do

• Develop and test systems and application software for automotive systems, including gateways, central computing platforms, domain controllers, zonal controllers, and ECUs.
• Design reference solutions for automotive applications and support production-ready ECU development through the CoreRide project.
• Prototype vehicle architecture concepts and create reference designs for customers.
• Collaborate with global NXP teams to create vehicle system solutions and enable new products.
• Support customers in China and globally on NXP automotive products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in automotive electronics, microelectronics, computer science, electrical engineering, software, or another relevant technical major.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive OEMs, automotive Tier 1 companies, semiconductor companies, automotive software vendors, or related industries.
• Excellent programming skills in C/C++ and ARM assembly.
• Knowledge of automotive technology, vehicle electrical/electronic architecture, Linux, AUTOSAR, TSN, security, and functional safety.
• Knowledge of microprocessor or microcontroller architecture.
• Good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work with multiple internal teams globally and with customers.
• Strong presentation skills for explaining complex technical subjects.
• Proactive learning attitude and passion for getting things done.
• Good oral and written Chinese and English.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Linux internals, Linux device drivers, networking, multicore systems, kernels, and virtualization.
• Knowledge of embedded systems, RTOS, device drivers, CPU cores, and instruction sets.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, TSN, TCP/IP, routers, and switches.
• Knowledge of ECU systems, gateways, CCUs, VCUs, inverters, BMS, and OBCs.
• Knowledge of automotive energy distribution, DCDC, eFuse, and eSwitch technologies.
• Experience in hardware design.
