Hirify AI/Оригинал
TL;DR
Sensor Software Engineer (Robotics) (C++/Linux): Building sensor driver abstraction layers, synchronization protocols, and high-throughput data pipelines for autonomous humanoid robots with an accent on low-latency systems, deterministic timing, and multimodal sensor integration. Focus on developing zero-copy transport, fault recovery, ROS 2/DDS interfaces, and hardware validation across cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, force-torque, and tactile sensors.
Location: Shanghai, China; on-site
Company
Developing next-generation commercial humanoid robots using AI-driven perception, reasoning, and dexterous manipulation.
What you will do
Design and maintain C++ driver abstraction layers for RGB-D cameras, ToF sensors, LiDAR, high-rate IMUs, tactile arrays, and 6-axis force-torque sensors.
Implement hardware-assisted time synchronization using IEEE 1588 PTP, gPTP, PPS, and hardware trigger lines.
Develop low-latency, zero-copy pipelines for point clouds, video frames, and telemetry used by perception and reinforcement-learning control modules.
Build sensor fault detection, health monitoring, automatic recovery, dynamic reconnection, and runtime diagnostic services.
Optimize Linux driver stacks and define unified sensor abstractions, schemas, and ROS 2/DDS interfaces.
Collaborate with hardware and calibration engineers on environmental stress validation, motion artifact testing, documentation, integration standards, and automated factory-floor testing.
Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
5+ years of software engineering experience in sensor integration, low-level driver development, or robotics middleware.
Mastery of C++17/20 and Python, including object-oriented system design, multithreading, and asynchronous I/O.
Hands-on experience with sensor Linux drivers and V4L2, SocketCAN, SPI, I2C, MIPI-CSI2, GStreamer, and OpenCV.
Experience implementing sub-microsecond hardware time synchronization with PTP, PPS, or external trigger pulses across cameras and IMUs.
Knowledge of ROS 2/DDS publish-subscribe architecture, zero-copy shared-memory transport, and IPC optimization.
Strong debugging skills with Wireshark, USB protocol analyzers, GDB, and Valgrind.
Nice to have
Experience integrating multimodal sensor arrays on humanoid or quadruped robots.
Experience with GPU acceleration for sensor-stream decoding and preprocessing using CUDA, Jetson VPI, or NvMedia.
Experience with tactile sensor arrays, event-based cameras, or high-rate IMU filtering architectures.
Comfort communicating technical topics in English with international teams.
Culture & Benefits
Work in an international engineering environment with headquarters collaboration.
Participate in building a full-size humanoid robot platform from initial development through production.
Work directly with physical robot platforms and cross-functional perception, state-estimation, hardware, and calibration teams.
