TL;DR
Sales Engineer I (Telecommunications): Designing and supporting network and technology solutions across cloud, security, RF, and transport disciplines with an accent on customer requirements, technical feasibility, and compliant solution architecture. Focus on translating complex requirements into proposals, estimates, diagrams, and deployable designs while coordinating customer, sales, engineering, and operations stakeholders.
Location: Must live within regular commuting distance of Anchorage, Alaska, United States. Work may take place in the office, remotely, or at client sites depending on business needs; reliable transportation is required for in-person work.

What you will do
- Translate customer requirements into technical solutions, basis-of-design documents, diagrams, estimates, presentations, and demos.
- Design and validate network and technology solutions across cloud, security, RF, transport, and related disciplines.
- Act as the technical liaison between customers, account managers, program managers, engineering, operations, and product teams.
- Support proposals, RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, gate reviews, technical presentations, onboarding, and post-sales handoffs.
- Conduct site assessments and customer meetings, validate field conditions, and resolve design-related issues.
- Provide customer and market feedback to product and engineering teams while supporting continuous improvement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, computer science, telecommunications, or a relevant technical discipline, with equivalent experience considered.
- At least one year of relevant experience in sales, technology design, implementation, or engineering.
- Working knowledge of transport media such as fiber, satellite, microwave, and copper, along with complex IP network design.
- Knowledge of telecommunications equipment including routers, switches, modems, gateways, firewalls, proxies, and related interfaces.
- Must live within regular commuting distance of Anchorage and have reliable transportation for in-person work.
Nice to have
- Cisco or Juniper certifications, including CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, JNCIP, or CISSP.
- Experience with IP telephony, videoconferencing, route/switch technologies, cloud computing, IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS.
- Experience with network documentation and Visio.
- Telecommunications experience or knowledge of enterprise, healthcare, or education markets.
