Laboratory Technician (Engineering)

Location: Must be based in Kelowna, BC, Canada (Onsite)

Compensation: $5,202.00 - $5,963.00 CAD Monthly

What you will do

• Fabricate and assemble complex equipment and test fixtures for research and teaching.
• Train graduate research assistants and teaching assistants on safe equipment operation and laboratory techniques.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, perform troubleshooting, and coordinate service repairs.
• Manage procurement of research equipment and consumables, including vendor coordination and budget reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, including WHMIS and GHS standards.
• Support undergraduate teaching labs by setting up experiments and assisting students.

Requirements

• Postsecondary degree in civil or mechanical engineering.
• Over 2 years of experience in a private sector or educational laboratory environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and resolve complex technical problems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new administrative systems.
