Cybersecurity Engineer (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Design and implement security architecture across EHR platforms, medical devices, healthcare information exchanges, and other complex healthcare IT systems.
• Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, MFA, EDR, email security, encryption, and related security controls.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, monitor security systems and logs, and identify and mitigate threats.
• Respond to security incidents, perform root cause and forensic analysis, maintain incident response plans, and support breach investigations and HIPAA reporting.
• Build client and internal security dashboards, maintain compliance controls, and support audit readiness and SOC 2 Type II audits.
• Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and vendors while supporting security awareness training and operational security improvements.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of cybersecurity engineering experience, ideally in a healthcare or managed services environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, MFA, EDR, email security, and encryption technologies.
• Experience securing AWS, Azure, or GCP environments and supporting SOC 2 Type II audits.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and HITRUST, plus familiarity with network and security architecture.
• Experience with Python or PowerShell scripting and the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
