Salary: $207,000 – $230,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate scalable distributed systems powering core marketplace experiences.
• Own complex technical projects from inception through production, balancing speed and maintainability.
• Break down ambiguous product problems into clear, actionable technical solutions.
• Lead engineering execution and coordinate with cross-functional partners to deliver high-impact outcomes.
• Raise the technical bar through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship.
• Identify opportunities to improve system reliability and developer velocity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience in high-growth environments.
• Strong experience building and operating scalable backend or full-stack systems in production.
• Proven track record of independently owning complex technical projects from design to launch.
• Strong system design skills with experience in reliable distributed systems.
• Ability to lead engineering initiatives and partner effectively with Product, Design, and Data teams.
• Must live within commuting distance of Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, or Seattle.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Elixir, or JavaScript.
• Background in high-growth technology companies.
