Salary: $130,000 - $210,000 USD (US) / $140,000 - $220,000 CAD (Canada)

What you will do

• Design and maintain real-time algorithms for vehicle tracking, map-matching, and ETA predictions.
• Contribute to data pipelines, APIs, and cloud services powering customer-facing products.
• Build infrastructure for algorithm development, including data capture, replay, and shadow testing.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to prototype and validate technical solutions.
• Break down complex problems into testable components to ensure rapid and reliable delivery.
• Support team growth through code reviews, pairing, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably with data-intensive or real-time systems.
• Proficiency in Java and cloud-native backend services (AWS preferred).
• Strong understanding of real-time data processing, streaming, or predictive systems.
• Experience building and consuming APIs and proficiency with SQL.
• Must be based in the U.S., Ontario, or British Columbia.
• No visa sponsorship available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Kafka, Python, JupyterHub, JavaScript, Vue.js, or AWS Step Functions.
