• Own and maintain the critical search backend system, ensuring high uptime and performance.
• Design, implement, and analyze search experiments to improve content discovery.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and DevOps teams to deliver impactful platform features.
• Manage data production and consumption across the platform.
• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents and improve system stability.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA.
• 8+ years of relevant experience (or 6+ years with an advanced degree).
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript (Node.js), and Postgres.
• Experience with information retrieval systems like Algolia or Elasticsearch.
• Experience with streaming data technologies such as Kafka.
• Strong background in designing and building public or shared APIs.
