TL;DR

Location: Hybrid (New York, NY)

Salary: $166,000 - $214,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead and develop the Data Governance team, providing coaching and priority setting for analytics engineers and analysts.
  • Build foundational governance frameworks, including metadata standards, taxonomy, and business domain frameworks.
  • Own and manage the data catalog (Atlan) to ensure metadata accuracy and drive company-wide adoption.
  • Establish and enforce certification standards for silver- and gold-layer data assets to ensure data trust.
  • Implement AI-native workflows to automate metadata enrichment and accelerate governance maturity.
  • Partner with Data & Analytics leadership to define the long-term governance strategy and roadmap.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data roles such as analytics engineering, data engineering, or data governance.
  • 3+ years of experience in people management with a track record of developing ICs.
  • Strong technical proficiency in SQL, dbt, and dimensional modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with data catalogs or governance tooling (Atlan, Alation, Collibra, or similar).
  • Fluency with AI tooling used as a lever for productivity and automation in data workflows.
  • Must be based in or able to work from the New York City office.
