What you will do

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers, designing scalable analytical architectures based on Vertica.
• Lead end-to-end design and execution of competitive proof-of-concepts and performance benchmarks.
• Partner with Sales to develop account strategies, technical narratives, and winning deal plans.
• Design and integrate Vertica within modern data stacks, including ingestion, storage, and BI consumption layers.
• Mentor and coach other Solutions Architects and Sales Engineers to elevate technical sales capabilities.
• Contribute to innovation in AI/ML integration and emerging data architecture patterns.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in solutions architecture, presales, or technical consulting.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a customer-facing presales role, specifically in Data Warehouse or Data Lake analytics.
• Proven expertise with columnar, MPP, or OLAP databases such as Vertica, Teradata, Greenplum, or ClickHouse.
• Strong proficiency in ANSI SQL, query optimization, data modeling, and ETL/ELT pipeline development.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Must be based in Italy to fulfill the remote requirements of this role.

Nice to have

• Experience with streaming frameworks like Kafka and Spark.
• Knowledge of AI/ML integrations and modern LLM-driven workflows.
• Experience collaborating with Global System Integrators (GSIs) and Value-Added Resellers (VARs).
