Site Reliability Engineer (AI): Operating and scaling Lambda’s multi-tenant cloud networking platform and SDN infrastructure with an accent on Kubernetes-based control plane services and dataplane software. Focus on driving operational excellence through observability, incident management, and automating infrastructure workflows to ensure high reliability for AI cloud services.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to San Francisco, San Jose, or Bellevue offices 4 days per week.

Salary: $240,000 – $312,000

What you will do

• Operate and scale multi-tenant cloud networking platforms and SDN infrastructure.
• Manage and improve Kubernetes-based control plane services and dataplane software.
• Develop automation tooling to reduce operational toil and enhance system reliability.
• Collaborate with software and networking teams to optimize deployment workflows.
• Maintain network monitoring, observability, and management tools.
• Drive incident management, capacity planning, and postmortems as part of an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or Production Engineering.
• Strong experience supporting large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes lifecycle management and operations.
• Proficiency in Linux systems, networking stacks, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with observability platforms, monitoring, and alerting.
• Experience automating infrastructure using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.

Nice to have

• Experience building and operating Software Defined Networks (SDN) like OVN or OVS.
• Software development experience in Go or C.
• Deep understanding of SR-IOV and DPDK.
• Experience with Terraform and Helm.
