TL;DR

Engine Control Systems Engineer: Designing, developing, and validating electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices to optimize engine performance and emissions with an accent on dynamic feedback control theory and simulation. Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Mossville, Illinois, USA. This position requires working onsite five days a week.

Salary: $97,530 – $146,290

What you will do

• Collaborate with process partners to develop and refine engine control system requirements.
• Design and evaluate control features using dynamic feedback control theory, MIMO systems, and digital signal processing.
• Develop and maintain Model-in-Loop (MiL) simulation frameworks using Matlab/Simulink and GT-Power.
• Analyze and visualize data using tools like Vector CANape, Matlab, and Python.
• Deliver simulation-driven design analyses and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues using MiL and on-engine testing methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics Engineering required.
• Professional experience in dynamic feedback control theory applied to spark-ignited engine control systems.
• Must be authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Working knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, GT-Power, and Vector CANape.
• Ability to work onsite in Mossville, IL.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in engineering.
• Experience with gas, diesel, and dual-fuel engines, including aftertreatment solutions.
• Background in physics-based modeling and system identification techniques.
• Prior involvement in product development processes (NPI, NTI, CPI).
