Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and scale security controls for infrastructure, identity, and cloud environments.
• Conduct security assessments, threat modeling, and code reviews to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Develop automation, tooling, and systems for security compliance and observability.
• Leverage AI tools to design and ship scalable services with high code correctness.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to harden systems from design to deployment.
• Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and define security standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of post-Bachelor’s security experience (or Master's + 1 year / PhD).
• Expertise in one of: infrastructure security, application security, access management, detection & response, or spam/abuse.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience with vulnerability scanners, SIEM, EDR, and cloud security frameworks.
• Must be able to work from the office 4+ days per week in Bellevue, Los Angeles, or Palo Alto.

Nice to have

• Experience securing complex distributed systems or enterprise-scale infrastructure.
• Strong software design skills, including debugging and performance analysis.
