SecOps Engineer (AWS)

TL;DR

SecOps Engineer (AWS): Identifying and reducing security risks across cloud and SaaS environments with an accent on vulnerability remediation and incident response. Focus on building scalable security operations, proactive threat hunting, and tuning SIEM detections.

Location: Hybrid - based in South Charlotte, NC (Tuesday-Thursday) and remote (Monday and Friday). Must be based in the US; no visa sponsorship or corp-to-corp available.

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year

What you will do

• Identify and reduce security risks across cloud, SaaS, and enterprise environments.
• Lead end-to-end incident response, from triage and containment to post-incident review.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting on a defined cadence.
• Maintain and tune detection rules in the SIEM and contribute to security tooling roadmaps.
• Collaborate with engineering and development teams to remediate vulnerabilities across code and cloud.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, or cloud security.
• Hands-on experience with AWS security controls and monitoring at scale.
• Proficiency with SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanning platforms.
• Existing US work authorization is required; no visa sponsorship or transfers provided.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with TTPs and hypothesis-driven threat hunting.
• Knowledge of IAM, SaaS security posture management, and Kubernetes/CI-CD pipeline security.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, or CIS 18 frameworks.
• Ability to script security workflows and leverage AI tools for detection and response.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Security Specialty or GIAC.
