Salary: £76,340 - £100,340 Per Annum

What you will do

• Design and build backend services and APIs supporting data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
• Own data storage and pipeline architecture, including integration with streaming infrastructure like Kafka.
• Implement authentication and authorization using cloud identity management approaches.
• Provide technical direction and review for frontend development in React/TypeScript.
• Collaborate with computer vision and data science engineers to define data contracts.
• Participate in high-level architectural decision-making for a product in active development.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering background with production experience in Java.
• Demonstrated experience building low-latency, high-throughput systems.
• Working knowledge of modern frontend frameworks like React/TypeScript for code review and direction.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and event-driven architectures such as Kafka.
• Experience designing and evolving API contracts in a fast-moving environment.
• Must be able to work on-site in Basingstoke, Bristol, or London at least 2 days per week.
