What you will do

• Design and scale backend systems for data infrastructure, including event-driven pipelines and APIs.
• Lead the design and integration of new services and components for data and event processing.
• Partner with product managers and stakeholders to design integrations and solutions for scaling the data platform.
• Draft RFCs to lead complex feature discovery and technical design phases.
• Improve operational robustness and ease of use through new documentation, tools, and dashboards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• At least 2 years focused on data engineering, data platforms, or infrastructure for data-centric applications.
• Strong proficiency in SQL with production experience using PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with data streaming tools such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar, or Amazon Kinesis.
• Proficiency in Julia, Python, or R.
• Experience deploying services in containerized environments with Kubernetes and IaC tools (Terraform and/or Helm).

Nice to have

• Experience with the Julia programming language.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js) for API integration work.
