What you will do

• Collaborate with scientific teams to ideate experimental strategies for soft materials like polymers, colloids, and gels.
• Lead conceptual development of characterization workflows using SAXS, SANS, and rheology.
• Design, prototype, and validate custom apparatus and experimental methods.
• Develop software tools to connect structure, dynamics, and performance data.
• Transfer successful prototypes into production-ready systems for the AI Science Factory platform.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with SAXS, SANS, rheology, or formulation performance assays.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar for data analysis and automation.
• Experience designing and implementing custom experimental workflows or scientific software.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced R&D environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice to have

• Experience with lab automation and high-throughput experimentation.
• Background in formulation science for consumer products, coatings, or energy materials.
• Familiarity with prototyping tools like 3D printing, machining, or microfluidics.
• Experience linking scattering and rheological data to ML-driven models.
