TL;DR
Accounting Assistant (Accounts Payable/Excel): Processing invoices, remittance advices, customer checks, and vendor master records while providing general accounting support with an accent on transactional accuracy and customer inquiry response. Focus on reviewing recurring accounting transactions, preparing accounting data, and coordinating effectively with internal and external business partners.

Location: Canton, OH; onsite

Salary: $27.50 per hour

What you will do

  • Maintain and work with accounts payable vendor master records.
  • Prepare, process, and review recurring accounting transactions, including incoming and outgoing invoices.
  • Process remittance advices, customer checks, and other accounting transactional data.
  • Provide general accounting clerical support within the assigned Accounting Department.
  • Prepare responses to data requests and inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Build positive working relationships between Accounting and other business partners.

Requirements

  • Two years of post-high-school experience working with accounting transactional data and invoice processing.
  • Basic Excel skills.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Onsite availability in Canton, Ohio, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Brainware/OnBase, or ServiceNow.
  • Associate degree in Business or Accounting.
