Data Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Data Engineer (Python/Snowflake): Designing and maintaining a state-of-the-art data platform for an investment business with an accent on ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and scalable infrastructure. Focus on automating data flows using DBT and Python, ensuring data quality through automated testing, and optimizing cloud data platforms.

Location: Hybrid (Manchester, UK). Minimum of 50% of working time per month must be spent in the office.

What you will do

• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine data requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
• Develop Data Warehousing solutions and produce clear data models.
• Automate ELT pipelines following modern CI/CD practices.
• Design scalable, efficient, and future-proof data integrations.
• Create automated tests to ensure the quality and integrity of data.
• Ensure compliance with Data Governance and Data Classification policies.

Requirements

• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Proficiency in Python and data transformation technology like DBT.
• Experience with CI automation systems (e.g., Jenkins) and git-based source control (e.g., BitBucket).
• Knowledge of Data Warehouse/Kimball methodology.
• Must be based in or able to work hybridly in Manchester, UK.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in e-commerce or financial services.
• Ability to use Docker and container orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure including AWS CDK.
• Experience with MS SQL or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as CoPilot or Snowflake Cortex.
