HSE Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Bishopstoke; based at offices near Eastleigh town centre, Eastleigh, SO50 6YU. The role is site-based, with flexible hours and remote working available depending on the role.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve HSE management systems in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company HSE requirements.
• Lead risk assessments, preventive and corrective actions, incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis.
• Monitor leading and lagging HSE indicators and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support leaders in integrating safety into everyday decisions and promote employee engagement, hazard reporting, stop-work authority, and a proactive safety culture.
• Represent the site during audits, inspections, and external authority interactions; lead and develop the site HSE team and support Group HSE projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
• Recognized Health & Safety qualification, ideally NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
• HSE Internal Auditor certification and experience managing audits and compliance programs.
• Proven HSE management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, risk management, incident investigation methodologies, and management system standards.
• Experience leading HSE teams and influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
• Ability to challenge constructively, influence leadership decisions, balance safety and operational priorities, and apply a continuous improvement mindset.
• Fluent English and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
