Location: Must be based in Sydney, Australia (Hybrid: 3 days per week in office).

What you will do

• Set the strategic direction for the Data and Insights function aligned with commercial priorities.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product leaders to surface evidence-based growth opportunities.
• Design and implement the foundational data warehouse, modelling layer, and visualization stack.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team using a product-team operating model.
• Establish robust governance, data quality standards, and self-service reporting capabilities.
• Translate complex analysis into actionable commercial insights for the executive team and board.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading BI, analytics, or data science functions in a growing tech business.
• Strong technical background in data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks) and modelling (e.g., dbt).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience sourcing and integrating data from CRMs and accounting systems.
• Deep understanding of modern analytics engineering practices including version control and testing.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both executive stakeholders and technical engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the pro-AV industry.
• Experience in hardware-software businesses with an OEM channel.
• Experience integrating AI-assisted analytics tools into daily operations.
