What you will do

• Oversee purchasing activities for components used in the production of embedded computing solutions.
• Manage supplier performance against KPIs including delivery times, quality, and pricing.
• Handle request for quotation (RFQ) orders, negotiate pricing, and implement rebate schemes.
• Develop and execute strategies for lead-time reduction and safety stock agreements.
• Collaborate with engineering to manage component obsolescence and secure last-time buys to avoid production disruption.
• Identify and qualify multiple suppliers for critical components to mitigate single-source dependency risks.

Requirements

• Proven experience in stakeholder management and financial acumen.
• Ability to create strategic industry plans to predict global market trends.
• Strong negotiation skills for contracts, pricing, and lead times.
• CIPS qualification is preferred (can be obtained through the business).
• Must be able to meet BPSS level pre-employment screening criteria for security clearance.
• Location: Must be based in or able to commute to the Colchester office.
