Architect, Professional Services (MS Azure)

Location: Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, or Montreal, Canada; travel up to 10% of the time.

Salary: CAD 120,800–151,000 annually, plus 14% target incentives.

What you will do

• Design comprehensive Azure technology solutions based on client business requirements.
• Support presales activities through technical presentations, demonstrations, proposals, and effort estimates.
• Lead the technical design and implementation of client solutions, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Explain complex architectures, integrations, and project updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Lead troubleshooting, enforce cloud security and compliance practices, and produce accurate project documentation.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to Azure Cloud Delivery Practice methodologies, templates, offerings, and best practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in client-facing professional services or 10+ years of related industry experience.
• Expert knowledge of Azure services, including subscriptions, policies, identity and access management, networking, security, monitoring, continuity planning, and cost management.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure as code, cloud automation, governance, cost optimization, virtualization, storage, compute, networking, and security.
• Strong scripting skills, including PowerShell, plus knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud identity.
• Experience with on-premises to hybrid or cloud application, database, and infrastructure migrations.
• Proven cross-functional leadership, project management, analytical, communication, presentation, consulting, and technical writing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, containerization, and Kubernetes.
• Microsoft certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or Azure Security Engineer Associate.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field, or equivalent industry experience.
