TL;DR
Climate Consultant (Climate Education): Supporting the Youth Fellowship on Climate Education through technical leadership in research, foresight, and governance workstreams with an accent on systems thinking and evidence synthesis. Focus on translating youth-led insights into strategic learning and policy-relevant outputs to strengthen intergenerational climate governance.
Location: Remote / Work from home (Duty Station: Florence, Italy)

What you will do
- Provide technical leadership and strategic support across the Fellowship’s research, foresight, learning, and governance workstreams.
- Lead the development of research methodologies and foresight approaches that bridge climate education, youth participation, and anticipatory governance.
- Support the documentation, analysis, and synthesis of youth-led climate education "Bright Spots," identifying key enablers and barriers.
- Develop strategic knowledge products, including the Future of Climate Education Report and governance-oriented synthesis materials linked to Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE).
- Facilitate knowledge exchange between emerging and experienced youth climate leaders, experts, and strategic partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, International Development, Education, Climate Science, or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of experience in climate action, youth engagement, advocacy, education, or research.
- Technical knowledge of climate frameworks and processes (e.g., UNFCCC, ACE, climate adaptation, and mitigation).
- Strong research and analytical skills, specifically in literature reviews and qualitative research methods.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Ability to work independently in a multicultural environment while managing multiple deliverables and timelines.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in progress.
- Knowledge of other UN official languages (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese).
- Prior experience working with the United Nations or specific knowledge of ’s internal organization.
- Experience conducting research on emerging issues, futures, or child rights themes.
