What you will do

  • Provide second-line oversight and challenge for credit risk strategies to ensure regulatory alignment and fair customer outcomes.
  • Develop, review, and enhance credit risk and model governance policies, standards, and frameworks.
  • Offer expert guidance on lending, affordability, and collections, with a specific focus on Consumer Duty.
  • Review credit risk proposals and strategy changes through governance forums, ensuring adequate controls and monitoring.
  • Monitor key risk themes such as persistent debt and long-term indebtedness to identify emerging risks.
  • Conduct impact assessments and gap analyses to implement regulatory changes and improve the control environment.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of FCA rules and regulations, including CONC and consumer credit requirements.
  • Experience within a consumer credit environment, particularly in credit risk or model governance.
  • Strong analytical capability to assess complex risk and regulatory issues with a methodical approach.
  • Ability to confidently challenge stakeholders and translate regulation into business-focused solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage and influence both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Must be based in or able to work from Liverpool, United Kingdom
