Cost Accountant

What you will do

• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Analyze production costs and prepare reports comparing standard vs. actual costs, including variance analysis and explanations.
• Support monthly closing by preparing manufacturing variances and related analysis.
• Lead inventory cycle counts and audits, reconcile discrepancies, and manage inventory transactions at the plant and 3PL.
• Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasts; provide cost analysis for new product development.
• Investigate and resolve Accounts Payable-related issues and update systems based on daily production variances.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Knowledge of GAAP and relevant accounting standards.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or JDE).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally.
