What you will do

• Design and scale high-performance infrastructure to process millions of metrics, logs, and traces per second.
• Lead technical initiatives within the Platform SysEng squad to improve system maturity and reduce region build timelines.
• Own the full lifecycle of platform services, from design documentation to production deployment and integration testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define SLOs/SLIs and drive reliability and performance improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system health and gain deep insights into product usage.
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools into team workflows to accelerate prototyping and documentation.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada with availability in EST/CST time zones.
• Proven track record of delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of system design tradeoffs including latency, consistency, and cost.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, and Kubernetes.
• Strong coding skills in Go, Python, or similar languages.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes in a remote-first environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with open-source or community-based projects.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes scheduling tools like Karpenter.
• Experience with Terraform, Crossplane, Tanka, or Jsonnet.
