Development Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Lead software development teams working on strategic initiatives within the Explore organization.
• Adapt leadership practices to each team's maturity, autonomy, and needs while fostering ownership and accountability.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Applied Science, and Engineering leaders to deliver AI-powered capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Coach engineers, support career growth, and build a healthy, high-performing engineering culture.
• Contribute to cross-team planning, collaboration, and the evolution of the R&D organization.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Development Manager or Senior Team Lead.
• Strong software engineering background with the ability to understand, review, and discuss production code.
• Experience building Software as a Service (SaaS) products.
• Ability to delegate effectively and adapt leadership approaches to teams with different levels of maturity.

Nice to have

• Experience leading teams working on machine learning or artificial intelligence products.
• Experience collaborating with Applied Scientists or research-oriented engineering teams.
• Experience working with product managers.
• Experience leading organizations through growth or organizational transformation.
• Passion for building high-performing teams while remaining close to technical challenges.
