What you will do
- Own harness architecture and design from concept and schematic capture through production release.
- Perform core electrical analysis including wire sizing, voltage-drop budgets, protection and fuse coordination.
- Develop and maintain schematics, harness drawings, and wire lists using the Zuken E3 suite.
- Define routing intent, grounding/bonding strategy, and shielding architecture for LV, HV, and RF interconnects.
- Specify physical protection and support for harnesses optimized for the space environment.
- Lead root-cause analysis and collaborate with suppliers on DFM/DFI feedback and process validation.
Requirements
- Degree in electrical, mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
- 7+ years of harness design experience, including 2-3 years owning harness architecture at the system level.
- Proficiency in Zuken E3 (E3.cable, E3.smallcable, and E3.HarnessBuilder).
- Fluency in IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Class 3) and NASA harness workmanship and qualification practices.
- Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment including Cirris testers, DMMs, and oscilloscopes.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
Nice to have
- Zuken E3.database librarian experience.
- Expertise in spacecraft charging and dielectric penetration (NASA-HDBK-4002, ECSS-E-ST-20-06).
- HV design for space environments, including corona and Paschen-law behavior.
- RF literacy and experience with space coax and connector specifications.
- 3D CAD proficiency in CATIA Electrical, SolidWorks, or 3DEXPERIENCE.
