Senior Software Engineer, Storage Platform

Location: Bellevue, WA, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week

Base pay: $196,000–$230,000 USD annually for Zone 1 locations; other compensation zones range from $153,000 to $202,000 annually depending on location.

What you will do

• Build and ship services that improve database reliability and performance, including connection pooling, query routing, and database access patterns.
• Implement automation for provisioning, configuration changes, backups, and routine operations across databases and caching clusters.
• Improve storage observability through metrics, logs, dashboards, tracing, and alerts.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues involving latency regressions, capacity constraints, and availability events.
• Develop engineering standards for secure database connectivity and safe usage guardrails.

Requirements

• Strong experience building and operating backend or infrastructure systems in production.
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database concepts, including schema design, indexing, query performance, and replication.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go or Rust.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, containers, on-call operations, incident response, and post-incident follow-ups.
• Familiarity with observability practices and performance measurement.
• Ability to work from the Bellevue office at least 3 days per week.
