Software Development Engineer (AWS S3 Tables)

What you will do

• Design and build distributed storage, indexing, and query systems for large-scale tabular data.
• Develop reliable, scalable, fault-tolerant, low-cost, and easy-to-manage cloud services.
• Improve data ingestion patterns and maintain compatibility with Apache Iceberg and popular analytics engines.
• Investigate design approaches, create prototypes, and evaluate technical feasibility.
• Translate feature specifications into maintainable and extensible production code.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams in an agile software development environment.

Requirements

• Professional software development experience outside internships.
• Programming experience in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices across the full software development life cycle.
• Experience with coding standards, software architecture, code reviews, source control, continuous deployment, testing, and operational excellence.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
• Additional experience with build processes, testing, operations, and full software development life cycle practices.
