Validation Engineer (Autonomous Defense Systems)

Location: On-site in Rabat, Morocco; willingness to travel for field campaigns and occasional trips abroad is required.

What you will do

• Define validation criteria, design test plans and scenarios, establish performance metrics, and determine pass/fail thresholds.
• Build validation procedures, tooling, software, hardware, and test methods for new autonomous defense platforms.
• Plan and lead outdoor field campaigns as well as simulation and bench testing.
• Analyze test data rigorously to quantify system performance and distinguish real issues from noise.
• Document defects, anomalies, and their frequency, then work with engineering teams to drive fixes and product maturity.
• Support validation trials across other teams and share data and lessons learned.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in aerospace, mechatronics, electronics, robotics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in validation, test engineering, flight testing, or a closely related discipline, ideally involving aerospace or robotic systems.
• Systems-level experience designing test plans, defining metrics, analyzing noisy flight data statistically, and evaluating complete platforms including airframes, avionics, GNC, and RF.
• Hands-on ability to set up and execute outdoor campaigns, with interest or ability to pilot systems and work closely with technicians.
• Clear technical communication, rigorous documentation, ability to work with varied backgrounds, and experience managing a small team.
• Working-level English, a valid driving licence, and willingness to travel for field campaigns are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with autopilots or flight computers.
• Telemetry and log analysis experience.
• Basic Linux knowledge.
• French or Arabic.
