What you will do

• Act as the subject matter expert for VAT compliance across EU jurisdictions.
• Manage complex VAT cases, including audits, disputes, and tax authority escalations.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Tax Technology teams to automate VAT return submission processes via APIs.
• Develop scalable compliance models and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Mentor team members to raise technical VAT capabilities across the organization.
• Lead communication with tax authorities regarding registrations, filings, and penalty challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Tax, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant VAT compliance experience within EU jurisdictions.
• Proven experience managing complex VAT cases, audits, and direct tax authority interactions.
• Proven experience using AI or automation tools to improve efficiency and decision-making in compliance workflows.
• Strong knowledge of EU VAT legislation and analytical skills to interpret complex regulations.
