What you will do

• Operate and harden authoritative and recursive DNS, DHCP, forward-proxy, and NTP services to ensure reliability at internet scale.
• Automate infrastructure using Puppet and GitOps to remove manual toil.
• Build metrics, dashboards, and signals to improve service visibility and performance.
• Drive root-cause analysis and lasting fixes through structured ITIL Incident, Problem, Risk, and Change management.
• Participate in a mandatory on-call rotation for KRITIS/NIS2 infrastructure.

Requirements

• Experience with protocol implementations including PowerDNS, ISC DHCP, Squid, and chrony.
• Proficiency with Enterprise Linux 9 and Puppet.
• Ability to program in Python, Go, Java, or Bash, and use classic unix toolbelt.
• Experience with data systems such as ClickHouse, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Nice to have

• Experience operating DNS, DHCP, or comparable network services in production at scale.
• Strong habits of debugging with packet captures and studying RFCs.
• Approach to automation by default, treating configuration as code.
• Experience with risk awareness and blast radius management in production environments.
