Generalist Software Engineers (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, New York City, or Serbia; remote work is available for U.S.-based positions

Salary: $200,000–$400,000 USD annually for U.S.-based positions; international salaries are set according to the local market.

What you will do

• Implement novel mobile experiences in collaboration with product teams.
• Design and build fast, intuitive user interfaces with design teams.
• Use Perplexity Computer and agentic coding tools to accelerate development.
• Instrument, analyze, and improve end-to-end user experiences with data science and machine learning teams.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and QA teams on testing, deployment, release, and monitoring processes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of industry experience.
• Experience shipping high-quality native applications.
• Strong programming skills and the ability to work across multiple codebases.
• Experience designing architecture and writing code understandable by both agents and humans.
• Deep understanding of application performance.
• Ability to own projects and product surfaces and move them forward proactively.
