What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop multi-functional engineering teams of 6–10 FTEs, managing performance and career growth.
• Provide technical guidance on system design, architecture, and implementation, ensuring alignment with security and regulatory standards.
• Promote modern engineering practices, including clean code, automated testing, observability, and resilience.
• Collaborate with Product and Delivery Management to translate roadmap initiatives into actionable plans using Scrum/Kanban.
• Manage dependencies, risks, and trade-offs while balancing feature delivery with technical health and cloud efficiency.
• Act as the primary engineering point of contact, coordinating with SRE, Operations, and Security teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and developing software and quality engineers in a delivery-focused environment.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Nottingham, UK.
• Solid engineering background with experience in Java, Vue, and CI/CD release pipelines.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Experience operating within complex, regulated, or data-heavy domains.
• Strong understanding of agile delivery, planning, and estimation techniques.
