What you will do

• Lead a small autonomous engineering team (5–7 engineers), owning team health, standards, and delivery.
• Drive people growth through 1:1s, timely feedback, performance management, and probation decisions.
• Own hiring and onboarding for the team, including interview bar consistency and the first 90 days for new joiners.
• Maintain psychological safety, manage on-call and workload sustainably, and address conflict early.
• Ensure technical excellence via PR reviews, setting quality bars, resolving deadlocks, and unblocking engineers.
• Own delivery of agreed scope with the Product Manager, renegotiating early when reality changes.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineers across growth, feedback, performance, and hiring.
• Strong engineering background with the ability to read designs, review PRs, and hold a technical line with senior engineers.
• Proven track record of shipping and owning delivery for a team, including breaking down ambiguous work.
• AI-native mindset: use AI tooling to improve team workflows with good judgment on where it helps vs. misleads.
• Clear, direct communication with early escalation and honest representation of the team.

Nice to have

• Experience in SaaS or FinTech, especially multi-entity financial operations or global accounting.
• Experience standing up or reshaping a team.
• Comfort with a Kotlin / React stack.
