Fullstack Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote from Mexico City, Mexico

Derq is an MIT spinoff building AI-powered traffic safety and smart infrastructure solutions for cities and road operators.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications across frontend and backend systems.
• Build responsive frontend applications with React, Remix, TypeScript, and Vue.js.
• Develop backend services and APIs with NestJS and modern microservice architectures.
• Build event-driven AWS cloud pipelines and Python-based ETL and data transformation workflows.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes on EKS.
• Collaborate across product, engineering, and deployment teams to troubleshoot production issues and improve scalability and reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience across frontend, backend, and production environments.
• Strong experience with React, Remix, TypeScript, Vue.js, NestJS, APIs, and microservices.
• Experience with relational databases, plus familiarity with MongoDB and Amazon Redshift.
• Hands-on AWS experience with services including S3, SQS, Lambda, Cognito, and API Gateway.
• Experience with event-driven pipelines, Python ETL, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to work remotely from Mexico City, Mexico, operate independently, and take ownership in a fast-moving environment.
