What you will do

• Design and build core backend systems powering fantasy contests, hirify.global Picks, user profiles, leaderboards, and real-time experiences.
• Develop scalable distributed systems for millions of concurrent users with low latency and high availability.
• Own backend initiatives from concept to deployment, including clean interfaces, documentation, and resilient infrastructure.
• Optimize performance through monitoring, profiling, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver user-loved features.
• Conduct code reviews and strengthen backend engineering practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Proven experience building and scaling distributed systems for millions of users in real-time or gaming environments.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Go, Python, Node.js, Java).
• Solid knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, caching, and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub).
• Experience designing RESTful/GraphQL APIs, data models, and internal tooling.
• Cloud experience (AWS, GCP) with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes a plus).
• Strong product mindset and excellent communication skills.
