What you will do

• Develop account-level valuation and credit underwriting policies using NPV frameworks.
• Manage credit limits, risk-based pricing, and retention strategies for retail credit products.
• Make data-driven decisions with a focus on marginal decision-making and portfolio returns.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.
• Monitor credit KPIs and communicate performance insights to stakeholders.
• Ensure credit risk functions meet requirements from second/third lines of defense and regulators.

Requirements

• Must be based in New Zealand
• Experience managing the risk cycle for retail credit products like credit cards or personal loans.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as engineering, statistics, physics, maths, or economics.
• Solid understanding of credit policy governance frameworks.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and balance elegant problem-solving with business needs.
• Track record of delivering results that exceed requirements.

Nice to have

• Master's degree.
• Working knowledge of SQL, R, or Python.
• Willingness to learn new technologies to help the business scale.
