TL;DR
Principal Software Engineer (AdTech): Architecting and executing complex integrations between the automation platform and major Demand-Side Platforms (DSPs) with an accent on API design, high-throughput data orchestration, and platform-specific operational semantics. Focus on building resilient, scalable integration layers and leveraging AI-augmented workflows to manage massive-scale digital advertising campaigns.
Location: Must be based in the United States (Remote or optional office in Burlington, VT).
Salary: $160,000–$184,000 per year.

What you will do
- Architect and maintain integrations with major DSPs like The Trade Desk, Amazon DSP, and Basis.
- Design and own partner API integrations using REST and GraphQL, ensuring robust handling of rate limits, retries, and idempotency.
- Encode complex DSP operational semantics into the platform to ensure accurate campaign execution and reporting.
- Collaborate with partner-side engineering teams to unblock integration challenges and drive technical direction.
- Set high-level technical standards through architectural decisions, code reviews, and design leadership.
- Triage and resolve critical partner-integration defects and client-launch issues.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on backend architecture.
- Direct experience integrating with major DSPs as a consumer of their APIs.
- Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot, including event-driven architectures like Kafka.
- Proven proficiency with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and distributed systems at high data volumes.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Strong understanding of partner API patterns including REST, GraphQL, and authentication.
Nice to have
- Experience building production systems that integrate LLMs, deterministic rules, and machine learning models.
- Track record of working in AI-augmented engineering workflows.
