Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Forward Deployed Engineer (AI): Partnering with customers to design, prototype, and deploy real-time voice AI and communication applications on the hirify.global platform with an accent on system architecture, API integration, and production-grade scalability. Focus on solving complex technical challenges, debugging production issues, and bridging the gap between customer requirements and platform development.

Location: Remote (US), with occasional on-site work in Seattle as needed.

Compensation: $170,000 – $250,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Collaborate with customer engineering teams to design and implement real-time applications using hirify.global.
• Build prototype integrations, reference implementations, and sample applications to accelerate customer development.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex technical issues within production environments.
• Lead technical workshops and architecture sessions for developer and product teams.
• Translate customer needs into actionable technical insights for the internal product and engineering teams.
• Contribute to the open-source ecosystem and improve developer documentation and tooling.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering.
• Proficiency in one or more languages: Go, Python, Node, Rust, or C++.
• Experience working with APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills for direct collaboration with customer engineering teams.
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, low-process environments.
• Must be based in the US or able to work in the US.

Nice to have

• Experience with WebRTC, real-time media systems, or telephony/SIP infrastructure.
• Familiarity with voice AI, conversational agents, or AI infrastructure.
• Previous experience in customer-facing engineering roles like Solutions or Field Engineering.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects.
