What you will do

• Design and ship AI agent systems end-to-end, from experimentation to production.
• Build and own the evaluation framework, including golden datasets and regression harnesses.
• Set the technical direction for AI architecture and identify new opportunities for leverage.
• Collaborate with the AI Product Lead to integrate AI capabilities with existing infrastructure.
• Think adversarially about security, prompt injection, and data boundary violations.
• Shape the early-stage AI pod and expand the role's remit as the team grows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in LLM or AI agent systems.
• Strong grasp of agent architecture, including context management, tool use, and retrieval strategies.
• Proven experience building evaluation frameworks, including retrieval vs. generation failure analysis.
• Comfort working across the full stack.
• Clear written communication skills for explaining technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Background in fintech, payroll, HR tech, or benefits.
• Experience with AWS, .NET, or Azure.
• Experience generating synthetic evaluation data.
• Experience working in early-stage or scale-up environments.
