Software Engineer III (Full Stack)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; hybrid role requiring a commutable distance from the Amsterdam office

Salary: €49,000–€81,700 gross annual base pay

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy applications in a cloud-hosted distributed system.
• Build product capabilities supporting researchers who transfer manuscripts for publication.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify requirements and gather feedback.
• Contribute to architectural decisions focused on system stability and performance.
• Implement enhancements to improve delivery processes and partner with Agile and DevOps teams.

Requirements

• Proficiency in most of Java, JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks such as React or Angular, and SQL, with willingness to learn the remaining technologies.
• Experience with Git or another version control system and a modern IDE such as IntelliJ or VS Code.
• Experience with refactoring tools, test-driven development, and mocking libraries such as Jest or Mockito.
• Knowledge of Agile practices including Scrum or Kanban, plus familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to improve team working practices and grow technical skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Codex, or Antigravity.
• Interest in learning about agentic software development.
