Software Engineer III (Full Stack)

Location: Hybrid in Amsterdam, Netherlands; candidates must be within a commutable distance of the Amsterdam office.

Salary: €49,000–€81,700 gross annual base pay.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy applications in a cloud-hosted distributed system.
• Build product capabilities supporting researchers who transfer manuscripts for publication.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify requirements and gather feedback.
• Contribute to architectural decisions focused on stability and performance.
• Implement enhancements to improve delivery processes.
• Partner with cross-functional Agile and DevOps implementation teams.

Requirements

• Proficiency in most of Java, JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks such as React and Angular, and SQL, with willingness to learn the remaining technologies.
• Experience with Git or another version control system.
• Experience with a modern IDE such as IntelliJ or VS Code and refactoring tools.
• Some experience with test-driven development and mocking libraries such as Jest or Mockito.
• Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Agile practices including Scrum or Kanban.
• Willingness to learn agentic software development and continue growing technical skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Codex, or Antigravity.
