What you will do

• Serve as the Engineer of Record (EOR) for structural engineering projects supporting DOE, nuclear, and government facilities.
• Provide independent technical oversight and professional approval of structural analyses, calculations, specifications, and design drawings.
• Review GT STRUDL analytical models and validate loads, load combinations, and boundary conditions.
• Verify compliance with building codes, engineering standards, DOE requirements, and project specifications.
• Coordinate resolution of technical comments and deficiencies.
• Stamp and sign engineering documents after independent verification.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering.
• Active Tennessee Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Advanced GT STRUDL proficiency and experience with finite element analysis.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC Steel Manual, and ACI 318.
• US citizenship is required due to government contract and clearance requirements.

Nice to have

• DOE, NNSA, nuclear, or highly regulated facility experience.
• NQA-1 independent design verification experience.
• Familiarity with ANSYS, STAAD.Pro, RISA, and Mathcad.
• Experience with safety-significant or safety-class structures.
