TL;DR

Aircraft Mechanic 1 (Aerospace): Ensuring airworthiness and functionality of aircraft through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical systems with an accent on landing gear, flight controls, and engine components. Focus on conducting regular airworthiness inspections, interpreting technical publications, and maintaining rigorous safety standards for Special Operations Forces logistics.

Location: Onsite in Lexington, Kentucky. Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an interim Secret clearance to start.

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems including landing gear, flight controls, surfaces, anti-icing, pneudraulic systems, and engines.
  • Repair, replace, or rebuild aircraft components such as drive systems and control systems to maintain aircraft integrity.
  • Conduct regular airworthiness inspections (100-hour, progressive, phase, and periodic) and perform validation tests.
  • Interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and engineering drawings to guide maintenance activities.
  • Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections to ensure operational readiness and safety.

Requirements

  • 6 years of experience with aircraft maintenance.
  • Proficient knowledge of airframe and system component troubleshooting and repair procedures.
  • Ability to use specialized equipment: Fuel Integrity Test Set, Pitot-Static Test Set, Nitrogen Servicing Unit, and precision measuring tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of technical publications and ability to maintain aircraft logs and records.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to facility access requirements.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and overtime as needed.

Nice to have

  • Experience with H-60 Aircraft Model.
  • Documented Military/DOD Service School or Civilian/FAA equivalent training.
  • Expertise in turbine power-plant operations and fuel system troubleshooting.
  • Ability to conduct flight control rigging and maintenance operational checks (MOCs).
