What you will do

• Create software architecture for real-time, fault-tolerant control of 20kW+ spacecraft.
• Develop applications for propulsion, guidance, thermal, power, and communication subsystems.
• Design and implement state machines for robust vehicle operation.
• Perform data analysis and anomaly investigation to resolve software bugs.
• Support integration and testing of spacecraft subsystems.
• Build infrastructure to increase reliability in software development and testing.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person (ITAR compliance required).
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Rust, C/C++, Python, VHDL, and SystemVerilog.
• Ability to work onsite in Los Angeles, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with spacecraft flight software development.
• Fluency with Linux systems programming and driver development.
• Experience with hard real-time embedded systems (bare-metal or RTOS).
• Experience with software verification, testing methods, and hardware-in-the-loop simulators.
• Experience with Extended Kalman Filters and fault-tolerant software design.
